Description
Though I never actually joined a gang, I was around them a lot and knew several people that were. I was pretty much in the streets daily and you name it, I saw it, dealt with it or did it. By the grace of God, I did not get too far gone and was still able to graduate high school and stay out of jail and the morgue. My father, after retiring from the Marine Corps, relocated us back to the Boston area. After a while of working jobs here and there, I finally (with some help from my Dad who had enough of me living in his house) decided to join the military. More school just wasn’t in the cards for me. I mean, I could have gone if I chose to, but it just was not for me. So, off to MCRD San Diego I went. After a few years in the Marines, I got out and decided to go to the Army. For the next 17 years, minus a few months when I had gotten out and then turned right around and went back in, I served this awesome country of ours in the U.S. Army. Along the way in my military career, I got married, divorced, then married again and then divorced again and had 4 children. All through this, I knew there was a God, but I was very far from Him. But, God has a way of reaching out and grabbing you. He’ll make situations arise in your life when you have no choice but to either turn to Him or walk into destruction. I had no idea at the time, but He had been calling me and keeping me from certain destruction for a long time. This book mainly focuses on and covers a two and a half year period where the transformation was in full swing and took place. It shows how God never gives up on us and during times when we think He has left us, He is right there and is actually preparing us for something greater.
